All configuration and administrative tasks are performed using Java-based administrative tools, which include configuration of security, database and storage media.

As eFIRST archive is object neutral, any type of data (text, image, audio, video and mixed media content) can be stored in one logical place according to business need rather than data type. Thanks to integration with Plexus' OSM product eFIRST archive also has the capability to write to tape and optical media as transparent repositories. The eFIRST archive XML import and query module will meet the growing demand for XML support in enterprise archive systems. eFIRST archive can be seamlessly deployed to be the back-end long- term storage solution component behind both eFIRST capture and eFIRST process. This provides a truly integrated, secure storage solution for these applications.
